Default Anyone extremely happy with their car?

Hello,

I'm on the edge about picking up a Supersport from my local dealer. Reading the comments concerning issues, I'm wondering if I should wait.

Are the majority of the people that have had the software done happy?
Are most of the issues software related?
Anyone having real motor or transmission issues?

Thanks for the comments and advise.

Mark

im happy with my XJ even tho the software update was done and my voice recognition didnt upload...im only unhappy with how my car was handled by the dealer ( seats marred with black scuff marks on the backs and black fingerprints on the headliner, cracked side door pillar). no known motor or transmission issues found...when i step on the gas it gets me there FAST!!! i have no regrets buying this car!

I love my car. I've been very patient and I guess I realized going in on year one could be a challenge. I think this car has had just as many issues as any first year model. I'm happy I traded to this and couldn't think of another car in this price range that I would want more now. That said, be ready to work through some issues. If you do pull the trigger I personally think you'll be happy! The power of that engine is glorious!

To paraphrase an old poem when it's good it's very good when it's bad,it's horrid( gas leak, loose tie rod frozen stereo Bluetooth) but after they fixed the first few problems it's been super they're doing the new software installation tonight .

Yes, extremely happy. But I had mine only for 5 days. Friend of mine had his for 2 months and he is extremely happy. I like it by far better then my CLS63. My friend likes it better then his Bentley.

Time will tell though.

I like it better than my 96, as a tech that works on them. I have never ever seen Jaguar been more in tune and working through each and EVERY issue that comes up. We have to do reports on ALL repairs so they can find if it was a normal failure, or if theres something they need changed right now from the parts manufacturer. Like beefier componnents etc....and a change in way car is assembled. I wouldnt be afraid to get one now personally, especially not the Super Sport nothing like dusting off sports cars with a big full sized luxury sedan

I've had my XJ for a week now and it came delivered with the latest software upgrades. It drives fantastic and I haven't had any issues to date. Hopefully this comment does not jinx the car.

So I think I'll mark one up for purchase 2nd hand in about 5 or 6 years time when I might be able to afford one, and also still be young enough to enjoy it.

I could buy one now, but could not take the capital loss in depreciation, it would be just too much. For this sort of price new, one needs about £1/2 million in the bank first, and I certainly don't have that kind of money, (yet !)

Have my XJL for 3 months (1100 miles). Did upgrade this week. Ask for and got daytime running lights (no charge). Everything is excellent and I absolutely 100% happy with everything. ie So far So good.

I'm very happy apart from some 'still awaited obvious functionality' in the audio interface (which I rant about a bit in another post), but this is not really a flaw, just a lot of potential which has not been realized (yet) but hopefully will be in future updates.

Got the car the first week of June and have almost 4,000 miles. My only complaint is the roof popping noise--car is currently at the dealer getting that fixed along with the software upgrades. Hope to get it back tomorrow with all working properly. I am super pleased with the look, performance, and features of this car and I'm a certified gear head!

Hi,
do you really mean the SUPERSPORT? The 510 hp version with the rear entertainment system? Reason for my question is that I was not able to find one anywhere and was told they are only available on custom order. May be I am missing something here. Can you tell me who your dealer is? I appreciate your input. I didn't want to have to wait 4 month for a custom ordered car.

My dealer tells me that the Supersport is only available special order and takes about 4 months. Jaguar is not currently making them for speculation.

I am EXTREMELY happy with it. Admittedly after a service visit fixing a few mostly minor issues. I call it "reworked" the car. Otherwise I would buy again.

My Blackberry 9700 syncs perfect in the Jaguar. But does not in my Mercedes.

After a couple of months with my XJL SC, I am more satisfied with this vehicle than I have been with any of my previous large sedans. (MB S55 SC and 3 BMW 750Li's) It has a few minor new-car issues, but nothing serious enough to prompt a return visit to the dealer for service.

On the road, none of my other sedans combined power with superior driving dynamics as well as the XJ. Every trip is a total joy.

So yes, I am extremely happy with my car and looking forward to many miles of high-performance comfortable motoring.
