I have a 2AMP Deltran tender that I was using on my previous vehicle thru the OBD II port. I connect it up the same on the Jag and it works just fine trickle charging the battery over time. When I leave the Jag for more than a week, I crack the window to run the cable in and connect the tender and when I come back, battery is all charged up. I have a smaller 1 AMP Deltran tender for my motorcycle that is connected all the time and never had any issues with it.

I was at my dealer today for routine maintenance. They're still selling the CTEK 3300 as a factory accessory. I didn't ask the price.

From the current XJ Accessories catalog.

Wise choice. I am currently purchasing a set of rear bake pads for the XJR, agent want XX for them and I advised that another supplier can supply at about 20% less. Ah but are they genuine he asks. I think ‘so Jaguar produce their own brake pads? I don’t think so sunshine’

It was interesting that when I picked up my XJR the dealer had EVERY car in the show room hooked up to a CTEK maintainer.

My dealer too and the reason is that they make it so you as a customer can do some adjustments to the seats and steering wheel and not kill the battery.
