Default Brake Groan/Squeal....About to go aftermarket on new pads and rotors.

My xjl has about 27000 miles on it. After about 30-45 minutes, i start to hear a groan when i brake slowly. If i let the car sit and start again, the cycle repeats itself. I've gone to two jaguar dealers here in Dallas, and they both give me the typical "it's normal" bull crap.
It's embarrassing, getting to a stop light or sign and then my car squeals. I've hard enough since the dealer won't do anything. I'm about to go after market. Has anyone had any experience with aftermarket rotors/pads on this car?

Aftermarket pads don't necessarily mean your brakes won't squeal.

Contact Jaguar USA and see if they land you a hand.

Brake pads are covered as part of the warranty, aren't they?

This may not be the same issue as yours, but on cold days I have heard my brakes squeak a bit, but then it goes off once the brakes have warmed up a bit, kind of like in Formula 1!

Yes they are covered under warranty, but from what i understand, Jaguar would only cover 1 change per axle. They replaced my pads/rotors. So we are good for now. Apparently the jaguar uses semi-metallic pads for the xjl. I was always under the impression ceramic was more quiet. Anyway, we'll see how long this lasts!!

Mine are squealing to. 28,000 miles. And it's worse when it rains!

I have a 2011 XJL with 33K and it does the same thing...except it only groans...seems to be coming from the front. I agree it's a bit embarrassing to have that. When I told the dealer they said it would go away when the brakes are done next time around...not sure if this is the typical "it's normal" bull crap either....anyone else experiencing the groan? Thanks.

I also had that groan under moderate-to-hard braking efforts on my XJL with about 9K miles. The dealer replaced the rotors and the pads free and now it is quiet.
