Default Can she handle this?

I need to move 20 heavy paving slabs at about 800kg tomorrow. The handbook says maximum rear axle load is 1250kg so it should handle it fine but I'm still worried that it's too much for the air suspension.

Also tyre pressure, The handbook just says 2.2bar/32psi front&rear but nothing about pressures underload. I was going to wing it and put the rears upto 36psi and leave the front.

I'll doing 60 miles (mainly motorway) before unloading them, so it's not just a nip down the road.

Any advice?

I think the maximum rear axle load probably includes the weight of the car. I don't know what the F/R weight distribution of the car is but you may want to start there and then figure what the additional load on the rear axle would be.

My advice is that you should rent a truck.

Your forum name may be a bad omen. Why risk your XJ getting splattered?

I now realize how stupid I I'm.

If I looked at the handbook correctly, you can work out you can carry 226kg in the front and 443kg in the back/boot (trunk). That make more sense as if I put 800kg in the back what would be like putting my 13hh cob and 7.5hh Shetland in the back.

I'll just have to do two trips I guess.
