check engine light
pull the engine code.
2859Bar, like wombat said, the service light is just telling you that you need to schedule the car for some sort of service (annual check up, oil change, etc). Unfortunately, without a special scanner, you are not able to reset the service message yourself.
As for the brake wear warning message, there are sensors in the brake pads that warn you when the pads are getting too thin. If you did your own pad change, did you replace the sensors too? In short, the sensor is nothing more than a thin wire that is exposed that when the pads wear to a point, this wire touches the rotor and grounds the signal. if you don't do the pads immediately, then you can wear this wire through and this causes the brake pad wear warning to remain in. The only way to clear this message is to put on new pads and also change out this sensor. Replacing the sensor is easy and is like a $15 part at your local auto parts store. You don't have to buy the jaguar specific one. This is a universal sensor. Get one with the correct plug on the end and you are good. Of note, there are 2 of these sensors on the car. One on the front, one on the rear. I don't recall which corners they are on. I want to say left front and right rear.
As for the engine error message, like was said, we need more info. Your local auto parts store can read the engine codes and that will give us a starting point. It can be a number of things.
