Default Code P2189

Well not exactly sure what’s going on with my 2016 jaguar XJR. Vacuum hose was broken and repaired and then the same day later on in the evening after being driving it notice the car is idling high. Got home turned it off came outside couple hours later and the engines bouncing up and down and idling really rough almost like a rod knock. Put the code reader on it and notice a code P2189. I guess these are pretty common. Is it an easy fix or does it need to go to the dealer? Anybody can help?

You’ve still got a vacuum leak somewhere on that bank.

Take it to a mechanic. Get it fixed properly without the guesswork.

I had a bad vacuum leak a year or so ago. It turned out to be my fault; I deleted the symposer unit and didn't properly plug up the port on the intake manifold. I tried the cigar smoke air leak test several times and got nothing. I put new orings on the big vacuum hoses and replaced the PCV caps, with no dice. I finally gave up and took it to a local shop who used a real pressurized smoke machine to find the problem. Point is, be prepared for the possibility of spending a lot of time chasing your tail trying to find the leak or just find a good pro to handle it.
