Default The competition

I am a one year proud owner of a 2011 XJLSC and I must say its has been a pleasure of owning this BEAST! I have been reading from several articles about the new 2014 Mercedes S550,and the tech in this car is going to be mind blowing!! MY question is will Jaguar take a step forward and compete with the likeness of Audi,BMW,Mercedes, and Lexus in the TECH department in the next 2 years? I myself would love to purchase another Jag with the bold styling, and with new futuristic technology..We need not to do false advertisement and Enforce the Jaguar symbol that sits on top of the hood,by taking a LEAP INTO THE FUTURE..

I would say so, as the system in the F type is significantly better/faster than the older models.

On the other hand, i hope they don't, because half of the dashboard in the new S class is just a screen. I don't find that too attractive.

Jaguar-Land Rover is well aware they must compete in the electronics arena. As such, w/ the shift in executives - according to CAR magazine - they will now focus on this shortcoming.

I applaud them for making a serious first step. The cars are mechanically and dynamically great. Now, the electronics will be as well...

I am not sure why they don't do some minor upgrades now. Things like redoing the infotainment system, Making the main TFT for informationally useful, being able to open and close the trunk with the FOB and the button in the trunk can all be done by software. They made a mistake by not adding a sim card connection and not adding things like soft close doors and head up displays. A BMW 3 series can be more advanced than my XJL SC.
