I recently acquired a new (to me) 2014 Jag XJL 6 cyl/3.0L Portfolio supercharged. Why is the recommended coolant for the car such a mystery? Jag puts the brand/type of motor oil on the filler cap; why can't they do the same for coolant? Nothing in the owner's manual either. Can anyone mention the correct brand/type? I want to have a flush/refill done on my car. Thanks in advance.

The coolant is orange, OAT. This label is on the coolant tank in my 2011 X351.

Thanks. I have an orange coolant on hand that my XK8 uses - Prestone Dexcool. I'll look to see if it has that specification number.

 

I had 1/2 of a 5 liter container of Jaguar label orange coolant purchased from Jaguar parts left over from what I used on my old XJ8. The spec on the container is ESD M97B49-A. The Jag dealership told me it was okay to use it in my 2014 XJ 3L. I've used it once to top off.

 

Yes it's just plain old Dex-Cool and has been for years.
