Default The plastic L fitting

Hey guys , going through all your photos and comments those part numbers didn’t exactly solve my problem. Was wondering if anyone knows what this part is called or part # for it ?

I seen a comment about having to buy a whole new water pump ? I hope this isn’t the case my water pump is fine .. I own a 2012 jaguar XFR

jaguar sells this as a updated piece that changes routing and includes and comes from the hose between the t stat and outlet pipe. No I don't have the part numbers I don't work in parts for the next question that always seems to get asked next, do some of the research yourselves...

Have a look at the attached, a pictorial of the revised coolant routing Brutal mentions (to overcome the volume of pump failures) and the broken part you mention is part of the old hose AJ812141 but I'm not sure that is still available. That part is now included with part # C2Z28467.

Has anybody found a source yet for that plastic female connector? I was replacing the big hose that the little hose is connected to and of course the whole fitting on the water pump cracked to hell. Please don't tell me I have to replace the whole darn thing now. There must be a source for the o-ring and connector.

As of 2019, part# is LR045238. This will fit the Land Rover and Jaguar as well.

Default Hi Imeri, I found plug-in L Connector.

It is attached to end of small hose on part number LR049989 LandRover Thermostat water outlet 5.0L
I cut part of the rigid plastic hose and connect rubber hose that is connected to L Connector. I had to purchase new water pump because I could not find plastic O ring connector that comes with pump. This is how I solved coolant leak at L connector in my 2011 FX Supercharged

Just adding on to this long asleep thread, I did a workaround for this... I very carefully removed the plastic stuff from my waterpump, tapped the brass piece the plastic goes into and screwed in a brass 90° , but the trick is the plastic is also a check valve, bought a couple of metal check valves for fluid off Amazon for a couple.of bucks and put it inline. I then just ran a new hose with a little extra hose to allow for the valve as my plastic hose was as brittle as glass

Tapped pump and brass 90

Check valve.

The brass 90degree i sourced at the local auto parts store and was very careful tapping it just a little, then backing off and tapping some more. So the tap didnt bite too much and loosen the brass in the pump. If it had inwould have drilled the brass then tapped the actual pump body. The 1/4 one way valves are in the included picture, just use a little extra hose to allow for routing with no kinks.

Amazon is my friend lol

Just a little note, due to the plastic hose getting very brittle and non elastic, I used a razor to cut the hose from the other connector so I did not chance breaking the connector. I will see if I have a solid picture of the finished product.

Water pump 90 degree using fuel line grade hose

Runs to the valve then just a loose loop to ensure flow

Hose runs back to the "Y" pipe.. thats all!

I just had this happen to me and I was wondering if you ever found a replacement or an alternative solution please don’t tell me I’m gonna have to replace my whole water pump as it is perfectly fine. Thank you!

Unfortunately, no, I had to replace the entire pump...but that was several years ago. It seems like there are a few alternative choices now.

Thermo, you are correct. We have tried multiple times talking to our parts department at the local dealership and were told the same thing. It is part of the water pump. I wish they would make more parts serviceable but the engineers design it and mechanics have to fix their mistakes. Maybe one day Dorman will start doing a better job of making Jaguar parts
