Default Dealers should offer snow tire package and storage

Just an idea. Dealers should offer a snow tire package with storage. They can sell you snow tires with wheels and also store your summer tires in their warehouse over the winter season and switch them out once the snow thaws out (storing your snow tires during non-winter months). This would go a long way to alleviate any winter driving anxiety and improve sales of these powerful RWD cars during snowy months. Any thoughts?

agreed, I did ask my dealer about snow tire package for my SC, and they didn't have anything. They recommended me to just use my old TL as winter beater car with snow tires. I'll probably just sneak the XJ out for a rare sunny day dry run when the road is clear and free of salt. Anyone know how the high performance summer tires works in the winter time when it's nice and dry but only 10 degrees out?????

We all need Autosocks. They are on the British site but I have had no luck here in the States.

Thanks Geek but I can't find the size we seem to need for the 20s - 697. Seems its just in Europe and I have not found them shipped to the States. Let me know if you do.

That's standard practice here- even corner garages offer the service.

Did a quick google search and it seems that they use a different numbering system in EU compared to US. Other car forums report that 785 is equivalent to 697. Autosocks for 245/50/R20 GT trim wheels

FYI I dont have any personal experience with these because they are illegal here in CA. Good luck though.

To all, Tire Rack is a premium forum sponsor. If you click on the Vendors button in the top toolbar you will find contact details.

Why not give them a call. Don't forget to let them know that you are from JaguarForums.com.

Hey, you never know!

Ordered the Thule K-Summit Low-Profile Passenger Car Snow Chain, Size K45. Rear wheels only so maybe I'll try Socks in front. Thank you very much for that info.

I wish I could find someone around here that would offer this service. What would be even better is if someone would offer the service as a season rental. How much would it cost for someone to rent me some snow tires and wheels for the season? I think it might be profitable for somewhere ~$500-$1000 per season.

The Thule K Summit are amazing.

I installed them on both wheels in less than 3 minutes. First try.

Can't imagine anything easier than this and they don't touch the wheel at all.
