I got some time today to further dig into my coolant leak. Whatever it is it is pretty big leak! I put the green dye in the overflow tank and after about one gallon of water added on top of that, it is leaking out pretty good from the back of the engine, passenger side. (Right side that is, 3.0 V6 SC Flex fuel RWD.) In the first picture I have drawn an arrow the general area where it is dribbling out from behind what looks like a wiring loom. It comes out steady drizzle while the engine is off and cool.
Coming out from behind where the arrow is. Possibly the hose that is inline with the arrow? Back of engine, right side,
So it looks like I need to take the supercharger off, to get more room back there. Which leads to the next problem. How the heck do these fittings come loose without breaking them? There are two on top of the throttle body and two on each intercooler. Any help for a DIY guy or are special tools needed to remove these?
How do these connectors with green dots release? Ditto for the yellow dot connectors, how to release without breaking or a special tool.
After some googling, a bite to eat and going back to look with some common sense, I got them all loose except for this one on the top of the throttle body...
The 2 marked in green, I believe are “gently push down, squeeze at the base and gently pull straight out “.
the yellow are basically the same pinch both sides, push in, pull out.
I'm working on R/R of the SC today. I’ll try to post a DIY in a few days.
