Diagram of the Jacking Points on XJL with floor jack?
If you look under the car, just behind the front wheel and just ahead of the rear wheel there are arrow-looking triangles pressed into the plastic, pointing out the jacking points. On the front, I insert the jack into that sunken square indent. You can touch it and it is metal as opposed to most else around being plastic. At the rear I set the jack just inboard of the little triangle on the vertical reinforced metal structure.
Get a hockey puck and put it on the jack to protect the flange. If you are very clever, screw two 3" lengths of wood or metal to it just far enough apart to slip the flange between them. That helps keep the flange from collapsing if you get any side load on it.
Old thread but putting this here for anyone wondering because I just found this yesterday when I had to get my XJ up on stands. Have a 2019 XJ and info was the same even though below link is for a 2012
