DriveShaft, P2406
I have a jaguar xjl 2011, 5.0 v8 rwd. Ive been fighting the p2406 code for a while now. At first I swapped the leak detection pump and the connector that went to it because it was destroyed. Doing that I only had to drop the rear end slightly in order to fit my hand. Cleared codes and the light came back for the same code. Next I decided on maybe taking it to a shop, they had a far better scanner and got a code for the canister purge valve, changed that with oem parts and didnt fix my problem. Now I have the entire charcoal canister with the leak detection pump. I currently have the rear end dropped but not enough so I can change such a large part. Took off the 6 torx bits holding the driveshaft, and having trouble removing the driveshaft from the differential. This is the only thing stopping me from dropping the rear end completely and finishing the job. Does anyone have any tips or tricks in order to pop the driveshaft from the diff.
Just a thought: Have you checked the fuel cap?
You need drivesaft remover tool to position it on the seam betveen flanges to separate them. Many vehicles use same tool, exsample Volvos.
JLR give number: Special Tool: 205-932
The one i have is the type what is hammered to separate the flanges by wedge, but found out that there are bolt operation ones as well, like this: NOTE: Not sure this one is suitable for X351? Diameter might be different? Just to get you an idea.

Do not try to hammer directly the joint or flange. It will not work, you only harm the joint. You need the tool. These suckkers have to be extracted, as they go inside each other a bit and its a tight fit.

Lets start with location: Where in earth you live? (much easyer to try to help sourcing the tool
)
You can ask you local indy garage if they rent you one for a day or source one from local auto-part shop.
For great info almost anything for x351 is found on Sticky section of this forum, where x351 manuals are shared (last share by member Clubairth1)

I live in the United States, Illinois. Just realizing now that this forum is across the entire world. lol. I got the car around a year ago and feel like there is never much information that's why i joined the forum just barely yesterday
Ok. Welcome. This community is great for info and help.
Here in EU area JLR are more common vehicle, expect high models in my country. Here huge import tax for new vehicles make expensive models even more expensive. At the moment Finland have 7 (seven) x351:s on sale. (all diesel)
Same time Germany have 118 x351:s on sale (32 petrol, rest diesel)
Checking Google Maps that Illinois have few big citys, where well equipt auto-parts shops may be located. Please visit or contact them and ask if they have drivesaft flange extractor tool? (use the pic on the link to show what you mean) My sinple one what just hammered in, cost something like 15 USD.
