Now i know this sounds a really stupid thing to do but I have a really good reason that will make sense

My XJ has the 8inch screen so even thought it has In control pro it cant do Android Auto so the highest quality i can get for audio from Tidal is bluetooth from the phone. Because of this im thinking of something like an AppleTV/Volumio device plugged into the HDMI so i can stream High res audio from that over the HDMI port.
Both of these have a nice now playing interface that is pretty static so not distracting while driving. The only issue is obviously it disabled the video in while the car is in motion to stop someone doing 70 down the motorway watching Fast and the furious.

Does anyone know how to disable this so it keeps the video onscreen in motion

 

I don't know about the XJ, but I have definitely seen a lot of video in motion adapters for other cars. Have you tried searching for that?

 

Yea ive seen a couple of them and someone suggesting it coul be done via SDD/Mongoose programming cable but wanted to see if other people had tried it

 

I had the same thought you had for video in motion. The best I could find while searching and tinkering with SDD was to get it to operate up to 6km per hour.

 

Well having done some google-fu I have found a few options to look into

And obviously the options of An Android Auto retrofit box but its how they get the audio into the car without an Aux - Reached out to a couple of suppliers to find this out, I did find this that looks interesting however if i go back to the setup i had in my old XF (Phone > High end USB DAC > Aux in) giving you an aux in in place of one of the USB sockets - https://naviks.com/i-24077710-jaguar...tegory:1207120
