Has anyone thought about an aftermarket exhaust for their car? I have to think that V8 could have a nice grumble. That's the only thing that doesn't impress me very much.

 

Interesting, I kind of like the low growl when the supercharger kicks in (unlike the whine on the '05 XJR I had).

 

That is interesting. I really don't like the sound of my Mercedes CLS63. Too steril. But I immediately liked the sound of the XJ. Thouhgt they did a nice sound engineering job. Just different tastes I guess.

 

I heard the new Quatroporte exhaust the other day which really drove my comment. The tradeoff I guess is that the XJ exhaust is docile for the times when you want it to be. But, I'll agree after some spirited two lane passing last night the car can grumble when you put the gas peddle down!

 

The Quattroporte does have a nice sound--even the '07 Sport GT I had. Must be that Ferrari DNA.

 

OK, compared to a Quattroporte, I see your point. That is no match. Even some Bentleys sound better. My neighbor has a Quattroporte, and I abolutely love that sound. One of the best around no doubt.

 

i think Quicksliver will be making one for the 2011 XJ soon.
