fob shell replacement, 2012
I found a decent fob shell to replace my beat-up 2012 OE one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/151899991282
$15, delivery in two weeks. The chrome end cap is metal, not plastic. Key action is a bit stiff, but that should eliminate accidental use.
One corner of the Jaguar circuit board must be trimmed 2-3mm with a Dremel or file to fit this shell. With a trial fit, it's easy to see where and how much.
This shell accommodates the factory emergency door key. Key blank is not included with this shell.
New shell is about half the weight (54 vs. 94g.) and 16 vs. 21mm thick.
No longer will ladies say, "Are you driving the Jag, or are you just glad to see me?"
