Default Full Display failure on 2014 XJR

Hi

My main speedo TFT display has gone completely blank. :-(

I'm hoping it's just a blown fuse but can't see the main display listed in the fuse list in the handbook.

Does anyone please know which fuse covers the main display?

Many thanks

Andrew

Since your car appears to still be under warranty, I wouldn't try to fix it myself and would instead take it directly to the dealer to diagnose and repair. If you accidentally screw something up, you might void your warranty. That's easy to do particularly when dealing with electrical components.

While my display never failed it had a bad pixel in the TFT speedo display when it was delivered. They ordered a new display that had to be shipped from the factory and it was (according to my tech) easily replaced and you cannot see any R&R damage.

It's with the dealer and seems that the whole unit has failed. Very very rare they say.

They are liasing with Jaguar technical. Just hope they're very responsive as I want it back sooner rather than later.

Thanks for the reassurance XJsss. Hopefully it's an easy swap. Sometimes cars just aren't the same after major surgery.

That depends on the surgeon. Good luck let us know how it turns out.

When the new "rising" transmission control knobs system came out on the XF they were a common failure item, but now are apparently reliable. It took a few years to sort them out, though. When I saw this "virtual cockpit" system on the new XJ a few years ago, I thought it was a bit of a step-too-far thing, as it is not a particularly essential improvement, or even an improvement at all. Luxury cars need reliability before innovation. Good job you're still on warranty. I hate to think what one of these would cost a poor second owner. "Yes sir, you need a new instrument panel; they cost £3000" or something like that.

If you can find out what they cost it would be useful.
