I was wondering if anyone has tuned their XJ and kept the stock pulley setup...if so what kind of gains did you notice?

I am curious as well. I see that EuroChargers advertises realistic gains. Also have pulley pulley upgrades. I have heard it is pretty easy to send your ECU off to get flash tuned even.

I know, it's tempting...that is what makes me want to just go with a tune and see what kind of gains. Hopefully someone will speak up.

I recently came across this company that has software for the 5.0 supercharged Jaguars.
I will be picking up a supercharged XJ next week and am going to try this upgrade:

Jaguar F-Type 5.0 V8 S Performance ECU Software Upgrade ? Emmanuele Design

Our performance software for the Jaguar 5.0*will take your car to 550+ horsepower and over 500*lb.*ft. of torque! Our performance software is loaded easily through the OBDII port, meaning no ECU removal is necessary. All maps are properly recalibrated to work within the OEM safety parameters.
*Stock
495 HP
461*LB. FT.
Stage 1
560 HP
516*LB. FT.
Stage 2
600 HP
553*LB. FT.
*
Other features include:
- Factory levels of drivability
- 14 day money back guarantee
- Emissions standards maintained
- No additional charge for stage 2
Stage 2 software requires a smaller supercharger pulley.*

Not heard of them myself. I would be very skeptical of any tune claims. Ask to see a before and after dyno on a real XJ that they have done it to. I've seen ones where they optimize to a peak power number but the torque curve and low rev power is materially reduced

Also look on the XF forum. Many members have successfully tuned the XF SC (the 5.0 V8 model) using a few different tunes (and some pulleys too) - incl a Eurocharged one that seems to be quite popular

Good luck!

Hi Guys,

We have tuned tons of the 5.0L SC XJ's. There's a lot of power to be had. A long thread about our 5.0L ECU Tuning here:

The Denso cars are slightly less responsive than Bosch but still make very strong gains.

Does it work on the 5.0L SC XK's also?
