Default Help with X351 Boot Release – Found Connector but Unsure Where to Send Power

Hi All,New member here – I've had a search around and managed to get far enough to pull the rear seats back and find the boot release connector as mentioned in other threads and Topix.

However, I'm not 100% sure how to safely send power to it. I understand I need to earth to the point near the fuse panel, but where exactly do I apply the positive wire? Is it inside the connector where the arrow is pointing in the diagram? There are 3 holes there. Just want to make sure I’m doing it right before I go poking 12v in the wrong place.

Apologies for the noob-ish question – first time dealing with this. Any advice or a quick pointer would be really appreciated!

Thanks

Ken

I would follow the sticky at the top of the forum as it's detailed and has pictures of what to do.
Getting Into The Trunk

That is the correct plug for the trunk release.

Do do i just detach the male from the female and then send power to the pin where the wire is connected?

If you read the link?
Here is what is says.

Have you got into the connector yet and looked? It's 12 VDC. If it does not work one way just reverse the leads this is all DC.
Read that thread as this may also not work so be prepared to use the manual method which is mentioned in that thread.

Thanks for that,

So I applied the 12V to the male connector pictured below, i heard something and the larm went off unfortunaltey the boot did not release. Is there any point trying the other connector i did see a video when someone put 12V to the female connector but im worried im might blow something else.

There is only 1 wire?
Again read what I posted. You want the pin your looking at the wrong side of the connector. That's not a pin in your picture.
