I hope not. I assume that is an Autocar render, so the real car will be more desirable.

Maybe JLR is harking back to it's Ford connection seeing as the front end reminds me a lot of the early 60's Lincoln Continental!

It is looking like they are getting the rear (atleast sides) right, but the front. I think I would rather stick a fork in my eye than look at that. I think they had a winning look with the Betroulli (?) looking design which was similar, but had a much better looking front.

Atleast this is giving me hope that there might be a chance for a JLR sedan in the future. BUt, not holding my breathe yet as we all know the SUV market is ruling at the moment.

I am thinking this is a bit more inline with todays looks and is what I was talking about:

Based on JLR's track record, I'll say this sedan will probably never be built. The Germans have a huge head start on this niche. What company would make this kind of investment to sell a few thousand units per year?
I only pray that they won't sully the XJ nameplate with this abomination.

Makes me have an urge to stick a compact disk in that slot of a grill.

The language in the articles suggests it is not a "New XJ," it is a new vehicle that will fill the position the XJ holds in the current lineup.

Regarding the car, I take a wait and see attitude on forming any opinion until its final official form, seeing it in the metal, and how successful it will be in sustaining the brand, at least under the present owner's stewardship, or lack thereof. It is 100% being built although it is likely not a "XJ". It's kind of confusing though as they had initially been working on an electric XJ and then news came out that the project was canned, now curiously they are working on a supposedly different 4 door electric sedan? The information in the article can be confirmed on Jaguars own website:
https://www.jaguarusa.com/index.html

The image in this thread is fake though. However, what the article describes sounds stupid as well. They are actually going to just plaster "JAGUAR" on the front bumper.

FWIW - I am more appreciative of the post that took the time to include a pic.

Random links in a post with zero details are not worth the click risk - and get ignored by me a lot - especially from low post count members.

As far as the witty sarcasm goes... no doubt you are very proud of that. Probably shouldn't be though.
