Default How To Remove Seat That Doesn't Move

Yet again another thread lol. I'm trying to figure out how I can remove my seat even though it won't move. All functions work except forward and reverse. When I click the button I just here the motor click but no movement. Driver seats work when no issues. I'm removing seats to pull the carpet out as I'm replacing it.

Having fought this on a 350 MB. I could move the seat forward some but not enough to get at the back bolts of the seat. Messed with it for a while and then since the up and down directions still worked. I raised the seat as high as it would go. Then tilted the seat forward or backwards as needed using the seat controls. Then I unbolted the seat from the seat tracks (Only 4 bolts BUT access was difficult!).

Now the seat track was all exposed and I could work on it. It's surprising how many times this is caused by someone dropping a coin down in there and it gets across the track stopping the seat from moving!

I actually do see the bolts you mentioned. Looks like T30s. I might can access them. the seat is up very high but it looks tight.

Man i struggled getting the site out. I ended up removing the 4 T45 bolts holding the seat to the track and boy the last bolt was a pain in the *** to remove, I ended up cutting a hole in the carpet to make extra room to fit my socket on the front left side. But I ended up getting it out and used a hammer to knock the rails forward to get the back rail bolts out.

A battle for sure!
Glad you got it. Was it a bad seat track or junk in the rails?
