Does anyone know how to remove and reinstall the instrument cluster panel bezel top pad. I know that's a mouthful. It is the leather covered part shading the instruments behind the steering wheel.
I live in Florida and the leather has separated. I was wondering if the whole dash had to come out or can that part that sits on top of the dash come out separately. I want to replace it myself since
no mechanics want to do the job. I know my pic is of an F Type but I also have a 2015 XJ as a daily driver.

Reason: my thread photo is of an F Type I'm posting about my XJ
I removed the instrument panel to install my Android big screen but did not remove that part? So I can get you part of the way there but then you will need to figure out the rest. I do think that panel does come off and is not part of the larger dash assembly but not 100% sure? Yes it does come off separate!
First remove the panel above the steering wheel that also surrounds the instruments. It's all clips except for one hidden screw at the 12:00 position on the panel. It has a small cover over the screw head. I have circled that in red.
Next I removed the dash instruments. It's just a few bolts and they are all visible. There are more than what I circled below so that's just an example. I might have the wrong screws circled too as this has been several years ago when I did my install.
When this is removed start looking at how your part is attached. I went no further than below. Ignore the red circles as that was connected to my Android install. See the two white stick on labels? That's your part.
Here is a picture I found of the entire part removed so I do know it is a separate part.
Here is that part from the back side and it does show mounting screws. The red circle is the screw you removed for the panel noted above the steering column.
Looks like you can do it and if you do it would be great if you could come back and fill in the details I missed?
Might help someone else down the road?
