Default Intercooler

Happy New Year. I am a new member and would really appreciate some help from the existing members.
Jackie is part of my wedding car entourage and recently there was a pop from under the bonnet. The restricted performance red warning displayed on the screen and what appear a limp mode kicked in. I got home, which was 10 miles away and started the Google diagnosis.
The suggestion was the intercooler and it seems that the plastic casing just below the exit pipe had split. By wedging a piece of wood between the housing and the bulkhead I could reduce the escape of air which was reflected in the running. I am going to attempt a fix with some heavy duty sealant.....
My question is: how long should the replacement of said item take.
The garage said 5 hours.
Does anyone have a video or link to the job to replace the intercooler. I appreciate it means removing the bumper.
Sealing the split would be ideal rather than the cost of a new intercooler and replacement.... Quoted £700 so far.
Thanks in

The split is around the rear flat chamber which is about 6 x 3 inches
advance for any help

The bumper is pretty easy to remove. Get a 2nd quote.

It's a remove and replace after the bumper is off, but the coolant drain/refill/bleed procedure should be done to avoid trapped air in the system.

Sealant is a bad move, avoid it at all costs.
