Hi all, the IC pump on my 2012 XJL SC seems to be intermittently working or may even have stopped working all together. My SC temps are very high (north of 180 Fahrenheit).
I swapped the pump today with the Bosch 010 and was wondering did I replace the correct pump? I saw a few forums where some folks accidentally replaced the heater pump rather since they are identical? I looked everywhere and couldn’t see another pump. This one was accessed/replaced by removing the front bumper.
I traced the hose that connects to the pump, to the supercharger intercooler, so I’m assuming it’s correct, but would like confirmation if possible.
Also, is it possible to bleed the coolant system by just parking on steep hill and leaving cap off + running high heat?
There are no separate heater pumps on the 5.0L engines. You have replaced the right pump. I notice that you had not electrically connected the new pump--you have to ensure that you get the positive feed onto the correct pump terminal otherwise the pump will run backwards. You should be able to fill the coolant and get most of the air out with the heater valves fully open and venting through the heater return pipe vent. Then just drive the car and top up as any further air is expelled through the header tank. Pump on my 2014 5.0L

Sweet! Thank you!
Yeah, I haven’t connected it yet. I need to take my old pump and the new merc connector to a local shop tomorrow to splice/solder together. I took a pic of the pump for the “+” “-“ orientation. Just need to plug the wire and bleed coolant tomorrow.
