very weird - are you using an aftermarket usb cable or a genuine apple one ?

also : are you using itunes on the phone or spotify ?

Good questions.

The problem occurs with Apple and non-apple USB cables.

The problem occurs with iTunes/Music and also with Pandora.

FWIW, the problem does not occur if Bluetooth is turned off on the iPhone.
