Default Door sill guards

Does anyone know of a good source for door sill guards? We have a Polaris white xjl and would like to protect the door sills from sand and grit. Thanks.

I have Avery Nano-Fusion film and am very happy with it. Try Googling for a local installer.

Ronald, how much are you looking to spend? I can find the lighted ones on e-bay for around $300 a door. The non-lighted ones are around $120 each.

If you look at Jaguarparts.com (dealership out of Cleveland, OH), they say the list price of the non-lighted ones is $114 each and they will sell them at a discount of $89 each. The lighted ones are list priced at $325 each and can be had for $275 each.

If you need the part numbers, you can use e-bay to get the numbers. that is how I found the information that I posted here.

Thanks, Thermo. I'm just looking to cover the painted section of the door sills. The car has the brushed metal "jaguar" protectors on the innermost part of the sill. Those are fine, I need protection for the outer painted strips. Our driveway material is made of limestone tailings and it will scratch painted surfaces in a hurry.

Hope I didn't misunderstand your message.

Ronald,

This should be a quick and easy DIY project, and the $$ you save by not hiring a pro can pay for dinner for you and your significant other. Just search eBay or Amazon under Automotive for "clear protective film".

Default Thanks for recommendation.

Thanks Stuart. I've received other recommendations for using clear protective film, so I will look into it.

Ronald, it is sounding like your best option is the clear protective film. You can pick it up fairly cheap and it can be applied to a lot of surfaces. Remember, have a heat gun handy. This will allow the film to stretch a little bit and make it better around the irregular shapes that you may want to get around.

Thanks Thermo. It's nice to know that there are veteran members willing to help. I'm looking into the clear film.

3M makes a nice protective tape in various widths. It is often referred to as "helicopter tape" it is used on the leading edges of propellers and helicopter blades to protect them. It is also used on all the leading edges of race cars to protect the paint from grit and oils from the track and other cars. It also removes fairly easy without damaging the surface.
