Rumours have been going around for some years now about a plug-in hybrid XJ, using the 2.0L petrol turbo engine and an electric motor.

You can see in the picture that the development car was called the xj_e.
Well it has an official name now, the "XJ iEWD" in internal documents from JLR, cars have been assigned VIN's and there are wiring diagrams for the XJ iEWD in the Topix service portal.
No official sales release, but it's coming soon by the looks of things
