Does anybody from here is the owner of XJR model? I would like to know if they make some difference to the height of XJR suspension.
I'm looking to go for a XJR tyres size (265/35 20 and 295/30 20). but i'm a little bit confused about the gap between the tyre and the wheel arch.
I do not want to look the car like some SUV and i can't find any info if the height on XJ S/C is the same or not.
Rostman I have an XJ SuperSport and as my wheels (Mataiva) are 9" and 10" wide I run those "XJR" size Michelin Pilot Super Sort tires and have no issues. The wheel gap is nearly identical to the stock sizes. So If your wheels are sufficiently wide I highly reccomend the Michelins as they transform the XJ.

I'm the same opinion of Michelin tyres. They are the best.
Do you have some photos of you car with those tures installed?
Thanks
Rostman: Here are a couple of shots today. Please, note that the tires are 80% worn so they gap is just a little larger. I do like the way the tire sidewalls protrude and help the look and protect the wheel.
Thanks XJsss. For me it looks ok. The funny thing it doesn't look much wider than my usual sizes with Continental (245/40 and 275/35).
Pirelli looks more "square" on the rim as i can see.
Tire diameter difference is less than 1/2"so the look should be pretty mush the same. The reason the XJR tires don't protrude is because those wheels are 1/2" wider (9.5" X 10.5") than my Mataiva Wheels (9" X 10") BTW my wheels are the minimum widths that will support the wider tires. Below are the versions of Michelin PSS's. Note that the rears are offered in three different compounds (BMW "*", Mercedes Benz "MO", and non manufacturer specific). Make sure you buy a matched set as I did (BMW) where speeds are higher a missmatch of compounds may result in unwelcome handling

While I cannot prove it, to the best of my recollection those wheels are a bit wider. Here is a part of the Jaguar 2014 product release for USA:
In order to achieve the maximum benefit from the suspension tuning, the XJR has new
lightweight, forged 20‐inch ‘Farallon’ alloy wheels. These are 10mm wider at the front and
rear in comparison to the wheels found on the XJ Supersport
Rear Farallon Wheel Offset 20”, 10J, 44 and Mataiva offset 20”, 10J, 46 offset
Yes, offset is different but width is the same. It is because of wider tyres they made offset bigger to place the wheels more inner into the wheel arch.
