Jaguar Dealer Repair Issue / Proper Rear Brake Pad Placement
I changed my own rear brake pads. Thank you to this forum for all the help. The last time they were changed was in 2017 by the Jaguar Dallas dealer. I discovered that JLR put reversed the inside and outside brake pads and it caused several issues on the left rear:
1) Caused major uneven wear on the inside pad on rear left
2) The notches on the outside pad indented the outer part of the caliper on the inside
The dealer did the work which is why this is so disappointing. I believe they started on the left and thought they needed to match the pad notches to the piston. They put the outside pad on the rear left caliper. They tried to match the notched. The piston unevenly compressed the pad. The two proud notches actually indented the outer part of the left rear caliper. It also looks like it bent the outside of the caliper outward. This is the right rear side. It's the inside pad = correct. You can see the piston mark. This is the right rear pad on the outside. This is correct.
This is the pad with uneven wear-very significant.

I had the same issue with front pads, fitted by a Jaguar dealer in the UK. The pads had been fitted the wrong way around on one side (ie inside pad on outside). Just goes to show you can pay £££ for Jag servicing and it's rubbish!
