Default Mirrors stuck in close positions and dead battery

I have a 2011 XJ and the mirrors would not open when I was driving the car. Has anyone had this problem? Also Had a dead battery and call Jaguar to come and pick it up. Dealer told me I'm leaving my key and cell phone in car drains battery. I do not leave either in car. I do not believe the dealer at all. Has anyone had these two problems?

There is an issue where if you don't lock the door and the key is too close to the car it will keep the car in standby mode and drain the battery. Haven't had the issue with the mirrors.

I don't know if this will help but by pressing the left rearview mirror button and the right one at the same time manually opens and closes the power mirrors. Haven't had any battery problems. The key and phone thing sound fishy. Always make sure when you lock the car to double press on the door button or key phob. It shuts down the computer. Otherwise it just goes to sleep and maybe the bluetooth stays activated.

Maybe the system doesnt let you open and fold the mirror while you are in motion. It would seem like a safety feature.

I had to run to the store and tried a couple of things that were brought up in this post and one other. I was able to "open and close" the side rearview mirrors by doing the double push while driving. Just and FYI
