That's odd. I don't remember seeing that piece when I did the coupler change 6 months ago. I am doing it again this weekend, so I will take a look around for it. But I wonder if it was just a piece that randomly fell in the area of the supercharger and is not really part of it.

Just got off the supercharger on our 3.0L and removed the snout, and there's nothing I see that looks like that part.

That part looks oddly new and unused with no witness marks which further makes me think it's just something that fell into that area.

Hey, if you have your supercharger off and your snout removed, would you do me a big favor and please check if you have this same rattling when you wiggle the shaft in the up/down direction? Mine is a 2014 as well and a V6. I have no play or rattling forward to back, and not as much rattle left/right.

I found that piece that fell out in this video at 37:05. You definitely need it!

I discovered the same noise, as if it were slop in the bearing. no peeps from it with the solid coupler ; no damage to shaft as others have displayed from the spring in their OEM coupler. all is good so far.

Thanks for the reply. I put it all back together with a new OEM snout and new OEM coupler, and the supercharger spun well by hand with no rattle and it runs quiet. If it gets noisy, I will spend the money and effort to replace the supercharger itself.
