Nav split screen annoying
Randomly my navigation map view seems to go into split screen where it is showing me exits, etc. on the right. It does this when I just have the map on while I'm driving (i.e. no set destination).
I know what on-screen buttons to push to get it back to the full map mode, but then at some point it jumps back to the split screen.
Is there some setting I'm missing that I can turn on/off to stop it from going to the split screen mode? I just want to always see the full map and don't need the list of upcoming exits or whatever on the right.

The nav system automatically goes to the split screen showing the upcoming exits whenever you get on a freeway. Yes, it is annoying and there is no way to permanently defeat this that I know of. Not just a Jaguar issue--a friend of mine had the same problem in a Cadillac CTS.
On the 2012, there is an icon on the lower left corner of the screen that you can select to turn on or off the split screen. It looks like a white rectangle. As previously mentioned, this can probably be addressed with an update.
Does this permanently turn off the split screen or just temporarily? You can push that button on the 2011's and it just comes back a little later if you are still on the highway.
Nope. It appears that it reset itself to a split screen whenever you drive onto a new interstate or turn off the car. It is kind of annoying.

Yes, I've always had the little square, too. I'm just (very, very mildly) annoyed that I have to push it every time. For me, the exit info is not as useful as other options. For other folks, it might be. That's why I hope for a software update to give us the option to not have it appear.
There is a simple solution. From the main navigation screen, select Nav setup. Then select User Setup. The item called "highway information" needs to be turned off with a screen touch. Once turned off the split screen on freeways and interstates will not appear.
