freeamr, welcome to the Forums. Lots of good info here and lots of good people. I think you will find that there is tons of information that can be gotten from here. But, we do ask a small thing from you. Please stop by the New Member section and tell us a little bit about yourself and your new kitty. We pride ourselves in being a better car group and as you will find out, we like to get to know one another. Contrary to what a lot of other groups are like.
As for recommendations, I would recommend getting say a 16GB USB memory stick and putting as much music as you can on it. That will make the travelling a lot nice as you should have a very nice sound system inside the car. This will garantee you won't be changing discs every hour. I just got mine and I have about 700 albums on my USB stick. I am always listening to music. Granted, I may have a slight problem as I put my Pink Floyd music on the stick and after 5 hours of playing, I finally got off of Pink Floyd albums that started with the letter A.
I would also say to take the first night and do a lot of reading of the owners manual (can be downloaded here at the top of this page if you want something to read on the airplane). That way you know what sort of features the car is going to have and what you may want to test out on your drive. I know you may find the "ASL" button on the center console very handy, especially in the midwest if you are traveling I-80. This button is essentially a driver set speed limiter. So, you can enable it at say 75 MPH and if you happen to not be paying attention how fast you are driving, the car will get up to 75 MPH, but if you go faster it will cut power to the engine and slow you back down. May save on a ticket or two. The trick is you have to be traveling at the speed you want to limit the car to in order to set it.
After that, I would recommend some drinks. It is going to be a long drive and something like coffee or AMP/Redbull/etc may be needed as the seats are very comfortable and if you are used to more "rocky" seats, these may be a little too comfortable.
Having done the east to west coast trips a few times (lived in Seattle, made it back to Virginia a few times). you can do the trip in about 4 days if you don't mind longer days. May want to also plan atleast part of the trip in some more "back woods" areas to see what the kitty will do. I think you are going to like what it can sprint to. Getting on the highway is always a pleasure as you can get up to speed and not have to push the car over 3,000 RPM and get there faster than most cars can even think about.

Thank you this my first Jaguar , I am coming from slk 55 amg and wanted to relax more and enjoy a sedan .
My main concerns is the old history of Jaguar reliability and wanted to know if there were any known issue .
The car is CPO with 19670 miles on it and as per dealer i should have 2 years or 50,000 miles from date of buying it .
I much appreciate your warm welcoming and looking forward to be an active member in the community

freeamr, the sunroof having issues was a known issue with the 2011 vehicles. Granted, what has me wondering is why they are still replacing the sunroof motor.
Like you, I am seeing a lot of wiring related issues with the car. With that being said, it is sounding like either the person that owned the car before you was paranoid about the wiring and complained a lot about any sort of minor electrical issue, the electrical tech would replace parts at a whim because he didn't want to investigate deeper and find a true problem, or the car was subjected to a rain storm (or 2 or 3) with the windows down and/or the sunroof and this lead to water intrusion into the cab of the car and this is causing electrical issues now. The other option is the car was subjected to flooding and that is causing the issues now. But, I am guessing as to the reason. BUt, with the interior trim needing repair, the sunroof motor requiring replacement twice (once for early diagnosis of the sunroof popping issue and later because of failure due to possible water intrusion), the window switch requiring replacement and a few other things, this seems to point towards a more broad initial cause. Granted, it could be simply you got one of the early cars and they will sometimes have strange problems like this because of being the first of the new style. I know I battled some oddity things with my Expedition because I got one of the first made.
As for the ECU failing, that is not uncommon. I wouldn't call it a common problem with the XJ, but, on a newer car, having the ECU fail/being replaced to fix an issue with the engine does not surprise me. Again, it seems to me that the dealership had an electrical person that was quick to replace a component to get the vehicle out the door.

Thank you so much appreciate your thoughts , looking online within the dates 12/2013 and weather in Miami there were a big storm and some area flooding
the car is CPO but i am having butterflies in my stomach worried that i made the wrong decision based on the car having warranty and been CPO and low mileage
I have a couple of questions could jaguar sell flood damaged car as CPO ?
2nd what should i check before leaving the dealer and head on the road trip , as after that we will have 3600 miles between me and them

freeamr, the trick is whether the person declared the car as being flooded or not. If they realized that it was "their fault" (ie, left the sunroof open), they may have figured it was ok as the car would dry out and not be a problem. IN the short term, it most likely was fine. BUt, it is the long term problems that show up later is where things come into question. This is where atleast having a warrantee on the car that you can get things fixed for little cost to you. The question then becomes how much time do you want to spend at the dealership. This is where having a good relationship with the local dealership can pay dividends.
As for what to check for, I would say to stick your head up under the dash. If you are going to see any signs of water damage, that is the easiest and most likely place to see it. Otherwise, you are looking at having to pull off door panels and whatnot. NOt something that most dealerships will be willing to let you do.
If you have doubts, plan the return trip going as near to as many major cities as you can. That way, if you have issues, getting to a dealership will be easier and most likely they will have what you need on stock.
