Hope it looks good as they "jaguar " Again face difficult times . They simply fall behind their German counterparts on both design & performance

I am making an assumption here, but I think if you want to get an idea of what the body is going to look like, then you need to take a look at this and then you can fill in the jaguar features.

They are saying that it is going to share the same platform as the XJ, but then, the XF shares it already. So, it will be intersting to see how close to this it comes.

Well, you can relax a little bit because the Velar did manage to become a true SUV, vice the sedan that this picture depicts. This is where I don't see the need to cross lines, keep Jags as the sedans and put all the SUV's into the Land Rover segment (even the F-pace and I-pace). Granted, there are people that will swear off say Land Rover, but love a Jaguar. If they only knew how much was shared between the two. I see it a lot with the Chevy/GMC/Cadillac lines.

If I were to replace my current XJ SuperSport I'd get 2020 RANGE ROVER VELAR SVAUTOBIOGRAPHY DYNAMIC P550 AWD AUTOMATIC. Tricked out for me it's just over $100k. I've driven several Velars and they ride similar to my XJ and it has all the latest tweaks I would want.

Hi Robert,

Didn't you mean to say "When I" and not "If I were"? You already put over 100K miles on it. Are you going to keep driving it just to see how long the water pump will last?

Have you driven the I-Pace? No water pump to worry about.

Hi Stuart,

Even though the new home I'm building will have 2 x 50 amp 220 outlets. I"m not ready to jump on the electric bandwagon as we will be out at Lake Oconee and 90 miles from Atlanta.

My plan is to wait for the new electric XJ to launch, depreciate to 1/3 of its new value, and then buy one CPO. Just like the X351 I have now, in fact. By then you'll have a choice of electric XJ and Ipace.

Agreed. Its nice to already know what my first electric car will eventually be...but certainly not any time soon.

Hmm. Looking at that teaser photo again, it kinda looks like the tailend of a Dodge Charger

I saw some sad "news" today, when I glanced through 'Car&Driver' magazine's new car edition, which arrived in my mailbox, today....while looking down the list of "new stuff" in the 2020 models, when I got to the Jaguar information, it said, XJ,,,,,dead.

I think that just means there will be no 2020 model year XJ. The electric XJ will begin 2021

I don't think that the next generation XJ will look better than the current model. I hope Jaguar proves me wrong though. Even in 2019, after 10+ years, the current model XJ is still the most beautiful car on the road. That look is timeless!

Saw what is supposed to be the "next-gen" 2021 XJ; was not impressed appearance wise, at all; didn't see any specs, just the pictures.

I agree. I'm VERY disappointed that it's being dropped....and possibly for an all electric version???

Maserati seems to be going the same way, unfortunately, with the Granturismo successor.

It seems like floundering car brands with lots of heritage that make some really underappreciated vehicles, are craving that EV panacea for their problems.
