Default Oil Leaking From Oil Cooler?

I think my oil cooler might be leaking oil
Is it possible to tell if its the cooler leaking or the gasket?

I can't recall a report of the oil cooler leaking, so it is almost certainly the gasket (Part 3). You should also replace the two coolant O-rings (Parts 2 & 6):

When the engine is running, pressurized oil can squirt out against the block and heads and splash back onto the cooler. The oil runs down from the sloped sides of the block and heads into the valley, but splashed oil collects on the horizontal flange of the cooler.

Cheers,

Don

Most likely the gasket. Any oil leaking from the cam covers into the V?

I'm not sure I think I saw some oil on the left valve cover but nothing from the right valve cover

I can't say that I've heard of many KS failures on the 5.0L engines, but while you're there it's definitely worth thinking about. I believe the original knock sensors are by Denso. Rock Auto has NTKs for about $21.00 each plus tax and shipping...

Cheers,

Don

The oil leak could be from the valve cover or Oil Filter Adapter Gasket / O-Ring

I don't have the Workshop Manual on this computer, but you can download it at the post below from Graham:

if your valve cover gasket was never changed you are approaching the 10 year mark, and that is usually the first
to leak. I would clean that area thoroughly and re-inspect
