Contemplating running the NGK 96024 one range colder at 8 instead of the original 94940 at 7. I am a speed devil and foresee running a VAP tune and upper in the future. Since plugs such a pain and expensive to replace maybe this is the correct time to got one range colder in the event I upgrade in the future. Any I’ll effects, for anyone that has them any long term visual side effects, loss of MPG or fouling? I can’t imagine one range will make a big difference during non agressive operation?
Gap will be changed to .36, stock is .40 it seems.

Decided to purchase the colder plug. Hopefully no issues will arise and MPG is the same. My winters are cold but not Artic cold. Colder is usually less risky than going hotter.
Plugs came in and comparing and contrasting vs a stock plug. The porcelain is ribbed on the colder plugs, the tip will enter the combustion chamber further, on the plus side, the electrode is larger and so is the welded tip. I’m not sure how this is a colder plug by just looking at it. The electrode insulation enters the chamber more aswell. The gap is .020 on these and opening them up past .030 is making me uneasy. I measured the stock one and it’s at .036 not 0.040 like I see posted on the forums. I’ll be leaving it at .030. I think the tuning shops mention 0.025. Wish me luck :/
