The passenger door on my 2015 xjl does not unlock with the rest of the car. When I use the keyless entry on any of the other doors, all the doors unlock except the passenger door. If I go and pull on the passenger door using the keyless entry it unlocks and opens fine. It also does not unlock using any of the buttons, even the button on its door and I can see the light is lit that it is still locked. I can also open and unlock the door using the door handle on the inside. Tried looking for others with this issue, but couldn’t find any.

 

You need to get the car hooked up to SDD and find what error codes your car has. These are too complicated to just start changing parts. Probably a door actuator but the codes will tell the tale.

But the big question is can you DIY the repair?

I will hook it up and see what it says. It isn’t something I would want to replace myself, but I would like to have some type of idea of what it is before I take it in again. Thank you!

 

Yes the actuator is a good guess. We have had that reported before. It's not terribly common and some of the actuators are a SOB to get to to replace. Just depends on the door. Front doors are more complicated so more stuff in the way.
