From the Jaguar USA Accessories catalog: Sport Pedal Covers $149.75
"Made from stainless steel and rubber, the pedal kit fits securely over existing pedals for a contemporary, sporting appearance."
RHD - C2D8416 MSRP: $149.75 available online for less
LHD - C2D8415
NOTE: THERE IS NO FOOTREST/DEAD PEDAL!
"Aluminum pedals kit for the Jaguar XJ8 & XJR (Mina Gallery or R center emblem) 2004-2009 models." $159.00 including the footrest/dead pedal. I'm not sure if they offer pedal covers for 2011-up X351 models.
LAST, BUT NOT LEAST: HERE'S WHAT I DID:
BEFORE
AFTER:
Cost $26.80 for all 3 aluminum/rubber pedal covers engraved with JAGUAR and the Leaper logo, from China and worth the wait! I couldn't believe how nice they were when I opened the package - they exceeded my expectations! I expected junk at that price but got heavy duty aluminum with separate thick rubber backing and all screws, fasteners, and tools needed for DIY installation (except a power drill and bits). It took me less than 30 minutes to install everything. Simply line up the covers over the pedals (you don't have to remove them), drill the holes, and bolt them on to the accelerator and brake pedals. The footrest/dead pedal simply screws through the carpet and into the floor with self-tapping screws. I didn't hit anything underneath.
Jaguar does make a footrest, though not specifically for the XJ. The one for the F-type should fit since it is a generic install. The part # is T2R11322
Here's a pic from my F-type.
I have the Jaguar pedals in my XJ, but haven't installed the footrest.
From: Mooresville, NC (Race City USA), home of most NASCAR teams.
I used the polished stainless steel/rubber brake and accelerator Sport Pedal Covers from the Jaguar USA Accessories catalog; and the engraved aluminum/rubber footrest/dead pedal from China.
The polished stainless footrest/ "dead pedal" from the F-type didn't appeal to me because it matched, rather than differentiated itself from the "active" or "live" brake and accelerator pedals, didn't cover the entire footrest area, and lacked the engraved Jaguar name and leaper logo.
Regardless of which covers one uses, I think anything looks better than the stock XJ driver's floor area, which is drab, plus subject to carpet footrest area wear and dirtying.

I installed the Jaguar XJ gas and brake metal pedals. I just received the F Type Dead Pedal to complete the look. It shows that 3 holes must be drilled to install the dead pedal. However, the part was designed for the F type, not the XJ. My car is a 2014 XJL. Is it safe to drill into the floor to instal this part. Thanks

Hi. I am concerned about drilling in my XJL. The part is for the F-Type. Drilling in that footwell is not an issue, since this is an OEM Jaguar part. Since I am using it in my XJL, I am worried I may damaged something on the floor, under the rug where I cant see if there are wires, etc., or worse...creating 3 holes to the environment.
As I explained in my initial post, I installed my aftermarket footrest using the 4 supplied self-tapping screws without hitting anything. Those screws were approximately 1" long. I did not drill any pilot holes; the self-tapping screws worked fine once I got them started with a bit of pressure on my electric screwdriver. Just don't over tighten them. A 1" screw won't protrude very much - consider the thickness of the footrest, carpet, and floor.
Why do you need to use a drill? Just because the instructions say so? Using a drill runs the risk of going deeper than 1" and possibly hitting something. You should be able to install that OEM F-Type footrest as I did with 1" self-tapping screws. I doubt that you'll hit anything, but if you want to be absolutely certain ask a tech at your dealer. I'm not sure, but I think you can't see the underside of that floor area from under the car.
And if you're worried about the footrest coming loose, note that I installed a custom R footrest on my XKR almost 2 years ago with only 2 self-tapping screws and it hasn't budged. Even if it does, I can put plastic drywall anchors in those holes to securely fasten the footrest. See my post #38: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...r-88734/page2/
I went with the Arden pedal as it complimented the factory option pedals that came on my car. When my tech was installing it he checked and there is at least 1 to 1.5 inches of sound absorbing dense foam under the floorboard. We used the screws that came with the pedal and screwed right through the floorboard without any issue.
I noted that the vendor reduced the delivered price from what I paid, $26.80, to $23.50, but it appears from the photo on eBay that the current version is NOT engraved with "Jaguar" and the Leaper logo. They're still a bargain, even without the engravings. AT Fuel Brake Foot rest Pedals Sport For Jaguar FOOT PEDALS | eBay
Most likely, that vendor was threatened by Jaguar's lawyers for copyright/trademark infringement.
I started this thread on 11-11-2014, shortly after I bought the pedal covers that were engraved with "Jaguar" and the Leaper logo. I updated this thread yesterday, 1-31-2017, because during that time the price changed and it appears that the engraving is no longer available due to copyright infringement.
You can go to the vendor's eBay site and ask him if he will engrave them for you. I doubt that he will, but if you don't ask you don't get. He will probably think you're the copyright police trying to trap him.
Grizzly - do you know how far the bear ran into the woods?
Stuart S
I'm confused. My foot rests at a downward angle when resting on the carpet. These foot rest pedals look flat with no upward angle giving me the same feeling. I guess you could put an angled block of wood under the pedal to get your toes sorta pointing up?
I think Mercedes has the perfect foot rest.
Thanks
To the left of the black rubber brake pedal is the factory footrest, which is the raised carpeted area (slightly discolored from my dirty shoe) that is angled between the floorboard and the firewall. If you are sitting in the driver's seat and extend your left leg, your foot should rest comfortably on that carpeted area, which is also called a dead pedal.
The aftermarket aluminum pedal covers are designed to fit over and screw into the OEM pedals - accelerator, brake, and dead pedal/footrest.
If you're sitting in the driver's seat and raise your left knee up while keeping your foot on the floor, your shoe will be flat on the floormat and not on the footrest, which appears to be your preferred driving position. I prefer to drive with my foot on the dead pedal.
Hi Stuart
What are the dimensions of the foot rest pedal
Thank you
Hi Michael,
I'll measure it tomorrow and let you know. Since it was made to fit the current model XJ, as shown in my pictures, I'm puzzled why you need the dimensions. Are you planning to use it in a different make/model?
Ha! I just happened to look here.
I did not see any dimensions on the links you provided. Amazon has some, generally around 10X4. Generic.
Some pedals look they're attached with carpet glue.
I trust if there in your XJ they would look good. I'm going to put it in my XJ.
Thanks
I have the stainless steel and rubber pedals. Need the foot rest to complete the look.
Going to the dealer Wed. I'll see what they have.
