Default Nav screen

By going to GENERAL then to SCREEN SAVER then to STEALTH and turning STEALTH to OFF...

Now when pressing the button to the left of the Home button the result is in the Nav Screen going black BUT the instrunent panel lingting staying the same level of brightness. And That level of brightness can be controled by the light switch down and to the left of the steering wheel. In STEALTH mode that switch had no effect on the inst panel lighting.

My car must have come with the STEALTH in the ON position.

16/17 hrs fron Cotati CA to Las Cruces NM starting very early tomorrow morning IF I take I-10 but might take I-40 depending on weather.

I used to race at Cotai back on my day... GTO then and a Z28 Camaro 327 . Lots of great fun...1965. You will be about 1.5 hr south of me in Las Cruses. I would take 40 if it is not snowing... Flagstaff can get snowed in of it is snowing. But I find it a much more enjoyable ride.

I can not find a way to separate the dash dimmer... wheel on left side from the on off of the dash screen. That screen is too bright at night on longe rides.

Drive safely...

Did you try going to the GENERAL settings then going to Screensaver and turning the STEALTH setting to OFF???? That works for me. Then you can blank the nav screen and still adjust the instrumant panel to whatever brightness the thumb wheel allows.........or I'm misunderstanding you.

I sometimes prefer going from Ft Worth down the I-20 till it hits the I-10, then on to El Paso and on to LA and up the I-5 to San Fran and up to Cotati. The reason is.........from about Odessa, Tx to almost El Paso it's a legal 80mph and nobody (hwy patrol) bothers you doing 85 mph and a bit more.

Another trouble free ride is on the toll rd 130 from Georgetown to where it meets the I-10. Eighty miles which half is a legal 80 mph and the other half a legal 85 mph. Do 85 plus all the way from end to end to help getting to Corpus a quicker trip.

Service time next week at Autobahn Jag in Ft Worth.

That said I came back via the I-40 to Ft Worth Yesterday/last night because it's shorter by about 60 miles and you can do 80 mph with nobody bothering you other than one slow eighteen wheeler passing another eighteen wheeler going uphill and seeing how long it takes one to pass the other. I know it's some kind of conspiricy going on there, doing that. Rained almost all the way from Santa Rosa to Ft Worth. Grrrrrrrr. RainX is your friend.

I prefer I=

Hailers, I did as you said and I a glad to report your suggestion work. I now can shut off , via the on off button or dim the screen via the dimer wheel on the left. I especially like being able to shut the screen off at night and not affect the dash dimmer. Thank You.!
