Default Possible locations of sensitive wiring etc. in the roof lining and windshield pillars

I want to install a dashcam and sensor system, it will require stuffing the wiring into the trim on the inner roof lining and pillars. Is there any issue doing this to an XJ? Are there any sensitive locations that will contain things that should not be disturbed?

Yes the car is full of complicated wiring and electrical devices everywhere. If your not sure I would recommend having it installed professionally so nothing gets screwed up.
Have you done this type of DIY before? If not stop and reconsider what could happen?

A-/B-pillars have sidecurtain airbacks on them. At least wires have to be mounted behind / under them or there is extra risk that installation cause harm in case of accident. All modern cars have similar safety / electrical systems, so if you need to ask; Its recommend to leave the installation for somebody who have learnt and understand the vehicle electrics. Exsample just a power connection for add-on device can make full mess for whole car if taken from wrong point.

Is there any issue installing a dashcam that feeds power from the cigar lighter?

Not at all. Only note that the socket will go Off when vehicle set itself for a sleep.
I have done few dashcam installations with LiFePo 4S / 8.4Ah (14V) drone battery, an Diode and a small vehicle sertified (e1) 5VDC PSU. Connected so that when vehicle is off the dashcam is powered with LiFePo battery thru 5V psu and when engine is running the LiFePo battery will charge from vehicle. Diode is needed so the LiFePo donīt feed vehicle and will cut bit off from charging voltage. (about 0.7V) PSU will cut at 10 volts, so it dosent ruin the LiFePo by draining it empty. LiFePo battery donīt nessesary need balancing charging like Li-Po battery need. After 3 years of use there was 2% difference on cells.
Only issue are at the moment that these LiFePo 4S 8.4Ah batterys are bit hard to get, because they are widely used on drones and currenty there are high consumtion in Ukraine.
