Powder coated stock Wheels

Well... I did it... looks okay.
So here we go... my rims had curb rash, needed repairs. My repair guy said, $500 fix all 4 rims, and paint em whatever color. I said cool. Gotta black car, paint em gloss black. It looks good, but drops the classiness of the car. Would look better on a white car. And also on a side note, one of my wheels were bent, and had a slight vibration in steering wheel. After the repairs, totally smooth ride. Will post more pics later. 15 Jaguar XJL Portfolio

So I went the other way with a few others. I have completely blacked out my 2015 XJ 5.0 Supercharged. and made my wheels black. My only issue is that I keep meeting the curb in one form or another and keep having to pay to get my wheels fixed. Otherwise I’m happy with my car.

I’m new to Jag and the XJ. Do the stock Kasuga come in different colors? I have some on the 2012 I just bought and they are painted silver. But I just picked up another set from a 2019 that are just polished. I’m guessing polished is stock. Both have some curb rash. I’m leaning towards gunmetal powder coat.

Black wheels are in style today. Anyone remember vinyl roofs, fake wire wheel hubcaps, and factory pin stripes? They date your car, just like black wheels.
I've never been a fan of black wheels, as they disappear when you're far enough away from the car. My Selena wheels are good looking, and if they were black you wouldn't see them.
But black wheels are great if curbs keep running into your wheels. It's a cheap and easy DIY touch up that nobody will see unless they are close enough.
P S. My XJ's Kasuga wheels are the OEM silver.

On the car is the painted silver rim. Off is the set I just got that’s polished. Not a lot of difference but I think polished has a little more shine (especially if I did more than pressure wash them). I’m taking them to a wheel shop and will figure out which to use soon. Might have a spare set for sale soon 🤣
