Default Question....

Hi Folks,

I spoke to my dealer today and he mentioned that they will start taking orders in about a month for the 2012's but delivery will be in late Summer...but he can custom order me a '2011 now w/ delivery in about two months...I've been contemplating on whether to wait or go ahead and custom order the '2011...any suggestions...also, looked at the '2011 750 Li w/ M pkg. today...both about in the same price range with a large discount on the 750 Li...never owned a Jag before but I have owned a BMW...being on a Jag board, I know what I'm going to hear but any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Will probably be very few changes in the 2012 model. Not worth waiting 5 months for--get a 2011 now and enjoy it. No comparison with the BMW 7 Series IMHO--the Jag is better looking inside and out, faster, and more exclusive. Definitely worth the extra $15K for the supercharger if you're comparing cost of the 750 with the M Sport package.

I agree with HouTexJag, it's probably not worth waiting for the 2012 as there isn't going to be too much difference and maybe the price might go up since this car is a relative bargain compared to the competition. The supercharged version is well worth the price as you not only get an engine that just screams but most of the options on the regular version are standard on the supercharged I think the only option is the radar cruise control.

As for the 750 it's a great car I think it's the best looking 7 series since the 740i, but as previously stated the Jag is faster more exclusive and the interior is much nicer not to mention the bowers and wilkens stereo is AMAZING. Another plus is jaguar now also has maintenance included in the warranty just like BMW so no trade off there.

I was in a similar situation. I was deciding between Alpina B7 and XJL Supersport. BMW has better road feel, nicer brake feel, HUD, soft close doors, reclining rear seats, camera in front bumper. Jaguar has more refined interior, more power, exclusivity, 5 yr warranty on both parts and maintenance, and its drop dead sexy. Jag is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Can't go wrong either way...both amazing cars. You might as well throw the new A8 or S8 into the mix, though I hate the exterior.

The Jaguar doesn't come with soft close doors. If you get the supercharged model your options are the heated front windshield which a few people hate because of the fuzzy glare you get, The dynamic cruise control, and the rear entertainment. There is no heads up, lane assist, night vision, or host of other tech you get inundated with on subsequent BMW, MB, and Audi models. Not saying its a bad thing.

Thanks for the info....now I'm going to see if I can get a good deal if I order a '2011...anyone know what a realistic discount of the MSRP should be?
