Rain/humidity sensor
2016 XJL
Anyone successfully replace with a used sensor? Jag says you must use new, but of course they would. I understand how a module could be programmed to a specific vin, but just a sensor?

The "misting sensor" fault code is a common intermittent code on these cars. You may notice occasionally on a humid day that the windscreen fogs up even with the AC on. If it does not resolve quickly, that may be a result of a misting sensor fault.
The sensor should just be a direct swap with no coding required. Keep in mind that on some cars the installation of this sensor is a bit fiddly. Some vehicles use a clear gel or film to install this sensor so there is no contamination or dirt between the sensor and the windshield glass so the sensor can "see" rain properly. Think of it like "floaters" in your eye. Take a look at this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...module-237240/
