Exclamation Rear Door Not Locking - Lock Replaced

Hi All,
I am hoping someone can shed some light on my issue, The other day my 2010 XJL started randomly setting the alarm off or not properly locking (2 beeps and mirrors not folding in), after a quick google I tested the bonnet switch, seemed to be working well, so locked the car and checked all doors and found the driver side (UK) rear door was not locked. So I thought wonderful I will replace the lock mechanism. Purchased a new genuine lock mechanism and fitted it last night. Unfortunately the problem still pesists exactly the same as it was. My next thought was that there must be a damaged wire in the door harness or a corroded plug but I havent found anything. Any ideas where to look next? I have a GAP IID tool for my LR and when plugged in it doesnt show any codes related to the doors and when I find the 'reasons for last alarm trigger' it just says N/A. I can find all the 'Adjar' sensors and all 4 doors say on when the doors are shut (i assume this is correct). I can lock the door manually on the handle and it locks when you drive away as it should so no problem with cables etc.
I need to get this sorted soon as I worry the battery is going to get tanked with the alarm going off when im not present.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Josh

You might have two problems here.

I suggest that you disconnect the bonnet open sensor

and leave it disconnected for now and see what happens.

I think you just need to bridge the two wires.

How is your battery? does it show a voltage reading of 12.6+ at rest? How old is the battery? Most electrical gremlins are caused by a weak or discharged battery Maybe it is time for a new one.
