Default Rear door wont lock

Hello all,

I was taking out the child seat today and after i was done. The passenger side door wouldnt lock anymore.
The door latch is in the open position when i use a screwdriver to place the latch into the lock position it doesn't stay locked. Anyone have this issue is it a fuse or something. The other 3 doors work perfectly, Anyone know what this could be.

Thanks.

The door locks on all 4 doors of these cars are unfortunately known to wear out. You will most likely need to replace the lock. Relativly easy diy job. Not so easy is to find the exact replacement part. The parts catalog is quite confusing when it comes to door locks. Chinese repro parts are available online, their quality compared to the OEM parts is unknown to me.

Only if you have a newer model with softclose, then you have a latch and a separate softclose actuator. I think if you have a newer model ordered without softclose, the actuator might be missing, but I am certainly unsure about that. The pre-facelift models have only a latch. Could a faulty softclose actuator produce your problem? Dunno. My suspicion would go to the latch.
