rear window shade

Please explain in more detail exactly what is or is not happening with your rear window shade (the Owner's Handbook refers to it as the Rear Screen Sun Blind). Does it go up and down when you press the switch in the overhead console?
If the switch works intermittently, I suspect the switch itself may be bad or a wire to that switch isn't making good contact.
Does it make a knocking noise? If so, see this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-sound-117048/

The rear windscreen blind on my X351, and both X350s needs to be greased about every two years or they start showing intermittant working. It has been a common problem for at least the past 12 years. If you service the car at a dealer they are meant to check it and grease if needed as part of the service, but most independants won't bother. If you can pull the blind up manually when the button is pressed then grease normally fixes it.
Sometimes it can also be that the blind needs retensioning. I've not had that yet, but over the years I've read posts from people who have.
Or do you mean the rear moonlight blind on the roof?

Rear Screen Sun Blind
Hi Folks, my 2014 XJL, (X351) Rear window Screen Sun Blind stopped working, when I press the switch to open the rear screen sun blind, I hear a very faint "click" sound. In addition, whem i open the door, unlock the car, the interior auto light stopped working, however; the interior lights work when i manually press them on. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

Weirdly I just had my '12 in for the 75k and had the same issue. The tech said it was just stuck and it worked fine, but then stopped over the weekend. I am going to climb back there at some point and screw around with it, but it does the same thing, just clicked and did nothing. Im willing to bet yours is stuck too.
