Its with great regret I'm selling my XJ, its nearly 10 years old and I'm in the market for something nicer.

The most obvious place to sell it is Autotrader, but does anyone recommend selling a car like the XJ on ebay, gumtree, pistonheads or motors.co.uk?

The reason I ask is someone looking on gumtree or ebay, I'm guessing, is going to be looking for a different type of car market, maybe a good deal etc. I've seen the XJ on all those sites, but not sure how well it will sell, especially if I fork out the fees for ebay or pistionheads.

Is Autotrader the best place for a luxury car like this?

Autotrader is the biggest site in the uk , I in the past tried to sell 2 cars on there but failed , costs a few bob . In the end I traded both in , you could try gumtree it at least is free . Try to highlight the service history and give full details and lots and lots of pictures , good luck . That 575 xj looks nice but .... no rear seat package ...nor illumination pack , Vents etc , why I have never bought one

 

There are, of course, the on-line car buyers "We Buy Any Car", and "Motorway". With WBAC they give you an estimate on-line then a final price after an inspection. I have never used either, so have no experience of the process.
Autotrader also have a similar on-line buying process.
