This morning on the way to work, I saw a new icon on the dash that I had never seen before - an orange snowflake icon next to the outside temperature on the left side of the display. Does anyone know what this means?

It wasn't snowing here in CA but it was relatively cold - about 39 at the time and 45-50mph crosswinds were blowing pretty hard as I was going down a steep hill (around 10-12% grade)

The icon went away around 5 minutes later but just curious to what it means. I couldn't find any reference to this icon in the owners manual.

 

It's just a warning of possibe snowy and icy conditions depending on the temperature. Nothing to worry about, but just a driver aid.

 

The "snowflake" comes on usually at around 40 degrees F or so. Lately though my car has it coming on at around 42 degrees.

 

Thanks. That's what I guessed it meant. Obviously not something that we would normally see here in "sunny" SoCal
