Hi , I'm bought xjl 351 from auction the car wasy biggest mistake I have to buy new engine , gearbox, turbos , radiators , compressor , suspension control module , damping module .
I Change also all 4 heights sensors and still my suspension it's going crazy up very high and down itself , computer saying there is mismatch vin number in suspension control module , I bought that part for 150£ the new plain cost 750£ , how to , change vin number to have control of vehicle height calibration and all sensors ? I spend on this car 10k already and still not work as it should 😭 can anybody give ma a advice how to fix it cheap ?.

 

You need to configure the suspension module as new in SDD, which is the official JLR software the dealers use. If you have a spare Windows 10 laptop laying around you can download a cracked SDD to use it for free. Pair that with a modified clone DrewTech Mongoose cable and you should be able to reconfigure the module. You cannot simply buy used modules and plug them in without reconfiguring the car to "accept" them. Most modules in the car are like this.

Be aware that these cars do not suffer cheap fixes and they are very expensive to have somebody else maintain. Prepare for more financial pain in the future if you cannot work on it yourself. $10K is just getting started. A timing chain job is worth $4-5K and a cooling system refresh $2-3K.

I am sure you got a "deal" on that auction car and we have seen this many, many times?
Cars are dumped in auctions because no one wants to fool with them! Problems galore too.


A used expensive luxury car gets no cheaper to repair as it ages.
Again there will be no cheap fixes. The good thing is your on the right forum to get all the repair information you need.
Now you did not say but it looks like you have a Diesel? If so consider joining the UK Jaguar forum too as they have a lot of experience with the Diesel versions.

I would also read up and study SDD as suggested above because if you plan to do the work this is the OEM diagnostic software system. But again this is a big subject and will take some time to setup and get running. This will depend on the level of software experience you have as it's terrible software and difficult to use.

It's my second xj 351 always used parts are cheap , I paid 3k for engine like new timing belt and gasket seals was done by seler just whole car all pipes seals everything was rotten I change everything already , I have before xf 2013 before was much better everything was perfect , hopefully your tip help me solve the issue thank u .

Yes my first one was xj portfolio 2010 I was only need to change alternator water pump and radiator car was brilliant but I was crashed , after that I got mercedes , range rover , infinity and other cars but I was missed my Jag so I bought cheap form auction for total of 2.5k£ and I spent another 7 so far , if I be able to fix suspension now it's only air conditioning to fix , I got new radiators big and small and all wiring new but still passenger side don't blowing hot air and driver side blowing weak and not always getting hot , it's weird , after all this I hope to finally have car like new.

 

As well speakers are bad I will need get better one , anybody have idea what speakers will fit and work better than the original flat one , it have to be the same or I can use flat speakers only to fit them ?

 

You have Diesel? Right? (turbos, belt)
On diesel there are auxilary electric heater and if the conrtol board of the heater fails it can mess up the comminication network (LIN) of the heater actuators causing very similar issues you have.
The heater element itself is hard to remove, but its possible to change the control board on site to the element. Hi guys , yesterday I was try to fix the suspension problem the JLR SDD program was opening only in Microsoft edge I can't switch to internet explorer as it should be I try today again however SDD shows most modules , like , air conditioning, driver seats , abs etc on red like there no communication or something it's that because engine was changed and other parts ? Nobody touch this modules but all showing like no respond or something it's that something what I can fix by computer or somehow all them fail and need to replace ?.

 

You need to go in Windows settings to only open links in Internet Explorer instead of Edge, this is a common issue with Win10 or Win11 SDD installations.

While SDD is running the initial module data collect, your ignition should be on (position 2).
