Hi Everyone, can you tell me if this is the OEM crossover pipe or an aftermarket one? Also, is there any way to see if the rear coolant pipe is upgraded through a visual inspection? I bought the car used at 20k miles so it seems unlikely that it would already be changed. Thank you for your help.

I think I answered my question as I found this picture on Amazon. Could they have replaced the pump? Or might they have left the original?
Definitely not the original pipe. The original is plastic for all XJ's from the factory, end of story.
It's not unlikely for the pipes to be replaced, even with 20K miles, because they go brittle with age too. I have seen OEM coolant pipe failures after only a few years and 20K miles. They are a horrible factory decision.
As for the pump, they are known to failure early, which is why Jag made a number of revisions to them. The cooling system runs at a very high pressure (29 psi radiator cap), and the pressure kills the water pump pump seals. I put in waterless coolant from Evans to eliminate the pressure in the cooling system.
